On Thursday, during his Independence Day speech, PM Narendra Modi once again demonstrated his determination to ensure the safety of Hindus amid ongoing tensions in Bangladesh.
Expressing hope that the situation will soon be under control, the PM noted that 140 crore Indians, including minorities, were concerned about the crisis in Bangladesh.
He also expressed his expectation that India's neighboring countries would pursue peace.
Earlier, Modi addressed the safety of Indians in the neighboring country during his congratulatory message to Muhammad Yunus, who was elected as the head of the interim government in Bangladesh.
Hindus in Bangladesh have been troubled by recent attacks against them. People in India have also voiced their objections to these attacks on Hindus in the neighboring country.
